Mark Read Interview:

As a member of A1 they had 2 UK number ones and eight top ten hits countless awards and three hit albums before taking a break to focus on other projects like with Mark it was songwriting, releasing his own album and performing at the Royal Albert Hall.

Having taken time out to move in there own musical directions A1 are now back together as a three piece recording a new CD and tour mainly at the minute in Norway how ever they will be returning to the UK to releases music. Mark Read kindly taken time out from a1's schedule to talk to Music Promotions about A1 reforming, how performing older hits compares to newer songs and the A1 fans.

Keep up to date with everything that A1 are up to at there official web site: www.a1official.com

Being back together as A1 does it feel as you'd never taken a break?

Well the very first thing we did after 7 years of doing our own thing we all met up for a show in Norway and performed a song that we had not sang for a long time, we literally met backstage at a TV show and performed one of our biggest older hits and it felt so good performing as A1 again.

Do you still enjoy playing your older songs as much as your newer ones?

I love the old songs and every one that comes to one of our shows love them to a lot of them remember them from the first time round, we perform them in a new way so they sound fresher and better, I do love our new songs it's nice to see the audiences singing along and singing back to us.

Which of your songs are your favorite to perform?

Wow that's a good question and hard lol! any song really that the audiences can take over, Every time and Caught In The Middle are two favorites never tire of singing them.

Being a songwriter are there any artists that you would like to write for?

I would love to work with Paul Mcartney, I have worked with Robin Gibb I would love to work with him again and also Michael Bolton i enjoyed working with those guys.

Would you ever consider going the X Factor route with a judging role maybe?

Seeing the strain and pressure that both Gary Barlow and Tulisa went through i really don't know, They are both so passionate with who they was mentoring you could really see how much they put into there acts, Tulisa went through so much with no one knowing how she would be but she really proved her self as a judge she really connected as a mentor she worked hard and deserves so much respect. If the opportunity did come up at the right time i would love to be involved.

What is your opinion of the current music scene?

To be honest I don't think there is enough artists that really stand out, Both Jessie J and Adele are the only ones really that really get me excited they release great music and Coldplay they are always consistent.
I always go back to old music that doesn't change for me, bands who i grew up with I love to listen to them and that's how music should be.

Where has been your favorite venue/crowd to perform at/in front of?

I think that has to be Royal Albert Hall it was such an honor to play there an amazing experience. There is so many others that i would love to play but Royal Albert Hall is the highlight so far.

So who are the girls? Well let’s find out. In tweet-sized bites.

@BeeVanquish - Warm, genuine, easy going & spontaneous. I love laughing, having fun & being silly! I'm compassionate, honest & love to love!

@HollyVanquish - Always happy, love to laugh, forever impulsive & living life on the edge because it's too short not to. I follow my heart & my dreams.

What’s this special sound? Fantastic dancefloor-filling Power Pop, with capital Ps. But when you hear who’s been writing songs for them that won’t be a surprise. Ivor Novello award winners Rob Davis (Kylie, Sophie Ellis-Bextor) and Jorgen Elofsson (Britney, J-Lo, Kelly Clarkson), master tunesmith Wayne Hector and Nick Dresti (AKA Lady Gaga’s ‘Space Cowboy’) are just some of the names who’ve been penning top tunes for the girls to create what is shaping up to be a standout pop album.

And, boy, can they sing! As they’ve shown on every one of their 100 performances in 2011. Touring the length and breadth of the country, performing at schools during the day, clubs at night, and theme parks and arenas at the weekend, Vanquish have spent this last year honing their sound, and earning their pop-stripes. Highlights include performing at The British Grand Prix at Silverstone; to 15,000 fans in Sheffield (sharing the stage with Matt Cardle & Tinchy Stryder); every day at Britain & Ireland’s Next Top Model Live (they were hand-picked and dressed by the event’s official designer Joey Bevan); and supporting Lemar in Stockport with an audience of 7,000.

The One Direction Save The Day Challenge Ends With An Exclusive Album Listening Party

After 20 challenges, 200,000 participants, 12 Twitter trends and over 2.5 million YouTube views, the One Direction ‘Save The 1Day’ challenge culminates this Thursday with an exclusive online album listening party for fans across the world.

The ‘Save The 1Day’ challenge began weeks ago when the boys lost their production laptop and it got into the hands of a hacker/gamer/mega 1D fan, 1DCyberpunk. Rather than giving it back, she decided to lay down a series of challenges to see if the Directioners could prove they are as big a fan as she is. If the Directioners win a challenge they get some of the laptop content back. Photos, videos, lyrics, the works!

So far 1DCyberpunk has had the Directioners making origami dolls of the boys, taking part in quizzes, doing complex maths sums and even dressing like her for Halloween. But it seems like Directioners are having a blast winning back the laptop content. Some are saying they run home from school or stay up late in different time zones around the world just to take part in the latest challenges.

Now with One Direction’s debut album about to launch, there is one final challenge before fans can hear ‘Up All Night’. 1DCyberpunk has challenged fans to unlock the listening party by taking part in #1DPartyRun, an online video race! Fans will upload videos of themselves or their 1D dolls running to the party and if enough entries are submitted they will unlock the party and arrive in time.

Without question, N-Dubz are one of the most culturally significant groups in contemporary British pop music. Their albums ‘Uncle B,’ ‘Against All Odds’ and ‘Love.Live.Life’ have to-date sold over 1.2 million copies in the UK and earlier this year they completed a sell out arena tour. N-Dubz have won five MOBO awards, a Sunday Times bestselling book: ‘Against All Odds: From Street Life To Chart Life’ and their own major Channel 4 reality series: ‘Being N-Dubz'. The band have an almost unmatchable online presence with over 100 million views on YouTube, 1 million friends on Facebook and 200,000 followers on Twitter Dappy, Tulisa and Fazerare among the most powerful names in music.??

Now N-Dubz release their 'Greatest Hits' all on one album for the first time on November 28th

JODIE MARIE

debut single ‘ON THE ROAD’

Released as a digital download on November 14th, 2011

Following the Summer download, ‘Single Blank Canvas’ which received praise across the board from the likes of Jen Long and Huw Stephens at Radio 1, Steve LaMaq at Radio 2 and John Kennedy at XFM, as well as across the press in the likes of the 405, Q and NME, Jodie Marie is releasing ‘On The Road’, a song laden with soulful melody and intricate percussion.

The track leads with a sauntering, sun-kissed verse, giving little indication of the point at 55 seconds in, when Jodie’s voice rips into the chorus – a gutsy, minor-key soul number – where the new extraordinary vocal talent lays down her marker with devastating effect.

Noah And The Whale today announce details of a major UK tour for 2012. The band - whose Last Night On Earth has, since its release last spring, firmly established itself as one of the Albums of 2011, will play 11 shows in March/April, including one at The Royal Albert Hall.

Full dates and full news story on this can be found in the news area.

THE SPECIAL KS

Five-piece electro-pop band The Special Ks are the newest act to emerge from Brighton, known for its eclectic and diverse musical culture. Despite the popular belief that the band was named after the red-dress donning cereal brand, the name was in fact inspired by the lead singer’s surname, Howard Kaye, who joins Darren, Mat, Ryan and Gan to fit comfortably into the newest generation of musicians. With a memorable sound and personable approach to their emergence into the music industry, their debut single Crystal Fields is set for release on October 23rd, a track that can be likened to other breakthrough bands such as Friendly Fires and Fenech Soler whose acclaim has skyrocketed over recent months.

Jessie J is back with Who You Are the breath taking ballad from her massive no1 selling album of the same name.

It’s been a phenomenal year for British superstar Jessie J; since winning the acclaimed BBC Sound Polls of 2010 and Brits Critics Choice for 2011, Jessie has racked up 16 global #1 hits, selling over 2 million albums and 5 million singles worldwide, confirmed to appear on the X Factor as Tulisa’s aid at the judges houses (airing Saturday 1st October) AND stormed across the live music scene with 2 sell-out tours and a string of acclaimed festival performances at the likes of Glastonbury, Bestival and V Festival!

On 7th November, Jessie J is set to unleash her next single, the highly anticipated power-anthem, ‘Who You Are’ on to the world, a song which showcases Jessie J’s remarkable multi-octave vocal and song-writing finesse.

As the title-track from her highly praised debut album, ‘Who You Are’ is a song Jessie J feels close to her heart; with lyrics set to inspire a generation, Jessie wrote the song at the end of a 3 month writing trip to LA before she was a popstar and 20, working her way through various studios with producers to write songs.

With Jessie J’s broken foot on the mend, she is also embarking on a UK tour in October;

Cover Drive continue to attract celebrity pals with their Bajan style. When asked in a recent interview, if they could have recorded one song that's in the charts right now what would it have been the stunning Saturdays said:

Rochelle "I would record Lick Ya Down by Cover Drive. It's such a good song! It done well but I think it should have done better. It's a huge hit."

And in their latest Fedora Session they take on 'Moves Like Jagger' by Maroon 5 but keep your eyes on T-Ray's moves and whistling skills!

So the delectable COVER DRIVE's debut single 'Lick Ya Down' was Top 10 this week - an amazing result for our young Caribbean talent.

Rather than enjoy their success they've been putting their cari-pop Bajan styling to Adele's 'Someone Like You' which continues its phenomenal success having just gone no.1 in the USA whilst being the biggest selling single of the year in the UK
