Scouting For Girls recently took time out of there hectic touring and recording schedule to take part in a charity bike ride for Well child the charity they are ambassadors for, making it more difficult they took the whole ride from London to Brighton on Chopper Bikes and so far raiseing over £4,972.45 for the charity, if you would like to donate any money you can do so from following this link: http://www.justgiving.com/scoutingforgirls. For more information about the well child charity please go to http://www.justgiving.com/wellchild.

Pete Ellard spoke to Music Promotions about the bands charity bike ride, being ambassadors for wellchild, stage nerves and there next single read the full interview below.

Completing the charity Bike ride how did it go?
Do you know what, it went a lot better than i expected! We intended to use the ride as a good way of getting fit, unfortunately, 6 months of
touring isn't the best way to prepare, so we had to rely pure determination and a bit of luck! Even more surprisingly, we're all
back to our peak of physical perfection after only a couple of days! (although my behind is still pretty sore!)

Who came up with the idea for the bike ride on choppers?
We finished recording the second album by about September last year, so had a bit of time on our hands and thought, lets do something for
Wellchild, then, one night down the pub, with a few choice ales under our belts, we hit upon the idea of a bike ride. After coming up with
London to Brighton, we felt we needed to make it a tad more special, so, a few more ales later we settled upon the kids chopper idea. We
are yet to apportion the blame for this idea..........

How much time did you have to train before hand?
Basically, none. We've been touring and promoting our new album for six months, which isn't the most 'fitness conducive' lifestyle......

Can you tell us more about the charity that you are working with?.
With pleasure! Wellchild are a charitable organization who provide nursing and support for children with conic medical conditions. On top
of that, they also work on research into a wide range of medical conditions.

How did you become to be ambassadors for them?
We were asked last year to present an award during there annual ceremony to recognize children and staff who have had a real impact,
it was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen, the bravery of the children and the amazing work the nurses and staff do, so when
they asked us to become ambassadors it was a bit of a no brainer!

Have you got any more charity events happening that you can talk about?
Short answer, no. I can say we do have another plan in motion, but, so far, Roy, Pete & Myself haven't told anyone the new idea. Watch this
space......

After the bike ride you did the live acoustic gig, is it more nervous doing these types of gigs than the big arena/festival ones?
Before we went on, we were all a lot more nervous than usual (we had played the V festival the week before and was fairly nervous for that,
but that paled away in comparison!). We'd never really done anything like that before, so therefore had no idea if it would even work! Thank goodness we have such lovely fans that they made the show the awesome success it turned out to be!!

How was the gig for you?
We have a saying on the tour bus 'too much fun' and they would be the three words i'd use to describe the show! It was so nice to be able to
play in such a chilled out atmosphere, but, as i said before. it was the audience that really made the show flow!

When will you be releasing your next single?
Our next single, 'Don't wanna leave you' is released October 10th this year. (we made the video a few weeks ago, and from the bits we saw there, its going to be an amazing video!)

Where can your fans catch you live? any headline gigs/tours coming up?
We're kinda coming to the end of our UK shows, we have Jimmy's Farm Festival coming up, which promises to be an amazing show, and a couple of other shows, but mainly we'll be tour in Europe for the rest of the year, then back in the UK February next year.

What is next for you?
my dinner, its half past six!

The debut album by I Am Arrows, the new incarnation of former Razorlight man Andy Burrows is out now, Sun Comes Up Again will be preceded by I Am Arrows’ debut single, Green Grass, itself set for release on August 9th, and the album’s release will be followed by the band’s first headline tour and their UK Stadium debut, supporting Muse at Wembley.

Already previewed as one of NME’s Albums of 2010, I Am Arrows’ debut is chock-full of tunes, and Green Grass is the perfect introduction to a collection of songs that will light up the rest of the summer. Beautiful pop songs that suggest Seventies soul, modern ‘beats and bleeps’, and timeless melodies. Heartfelt songs about love, doubt, confusion, romance and, here and there, the mercurial ‘bromance’ he had with his former bandmates. The songs are small but huge, warmly fuzzy but perfectly formed, instantly appealing and naggingly unforgettable.

American Dreams brings together a comprehensive collection of all your favourite tracks from the best of US television, on one great double CD. Featuring tracks from best-selling artists including Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys and The Pussycat Dolls, the album reads like a who’s who of pop music.
Every song on the track-listing has been featured as a theme tune to a hit American TV series, or at a key moment during one of the episodes, and hits have been chosen from shows such as The Hills, 90210, One Tree Hill, Dawson’s Creek, The O.C., Gossip Girl, Friends and Glee.
The album is due for release on 16th August and is available to pre-order now.
