is the one to watch. Listen to her album at itunes
now. She is an incredible talent.
Hi
Camilla, How are you?
Amazing! With the album doing so well, being the ‘voice
of Waitrose’ singing on their Christmas advert and all
my upcoming shows I just can’t believe this is all real!
You’re
the first signing to Gary Barlow’s record label, what
is it like working with Gary?
Gary’s an amazing label boss. Very hands on, caring
and understanding. He obviously knows what it’s like
to be an artist so never asks too much of me.
Do
you feel there is extra pressure on you to deliver a successful
debut album due to the press build up towards your first album?
(Do you put extra pressure on yourself?)
I think there’s always pressure to do well when you’re
the first of anything. But I’m enjoying every moment
and the album is in the number 1 in the itunes classical chart
again!
'She Moved Through the Fair' your first single, is there a
story behind the song?
My flatmate from uni, Grainne is northern Irish and this is
one of her favorite tracks. I had already wanted to do a Celtic
song so when she suggested it Gary and I felt it was just
perfect.
Is
'She Moved Through The Fair' a good indication of the sound
of your first album?
I’d say it’s a fairly good representation of the
‘mood’ of the record, however they are also some
purely classical tracks included, like In Paradisum and Panis
Angelicus and some contemporary tracks that I’ve added
a classical spin to, for example ‘The Closest Thing
to Crazy’
Your
version of Take that's Rule the world has been a massive hit
on You tube, will this be featured on your album?
It’s done so well! 110,000 views and counting. It’s
such an honor. And yes it is on the album, it’s a feature
track!
How
would you describe your albums sound and style?
The album is really serene and relaxing. I tried to make a
record to fall in love to, to inspire and move people, I wanted
it to be the soundtrack to a Sunday morning with all the family
piled in bed. I really hope I’ve done that.
How
long have you spent recording your first album?
We really took our time choosing tracks and demoing up my
vocals. This meant when we got into the recording studio we
knew exactly what needed to be done and what my strengths
and weaknesses were. I was so lucky to have all that time
to practice, the end result being that I finished all the
vocals for the total 21 tracks in 8 days.
Any
songs with other singers featured on your debut release?
No just me I’m afraid. I just did some live dates with
Il Divo though, and they were just incredible. A future ‘duet’
with them world be out of this world! I also met Faryl the
other day and she’s such a sweetie so maybe something
there too!
Do
you have a tour planned to support your album release?
I’m touring next year. Nothing confirmed yet but I’m
so excited about it! Singing live to an audience is the reason
I got into this industry!
What
are your up and coming plans?
Work, work, work!
Any
messages for your supporters?
Just an enormous thank you to everyone who follows me and
who has or will be buying the record! Remember, without you
fans there would be no industry!
