live can be found at her official web site: www.camillakerslake.com.
2010 is the year for new music and Camilla is set
to make 2010 her year. Watch out for the super talented
Camilla and catch her live where ever possible.
You've
had an incredible 2009, how's 2010 been for you so far?
So
far this year i've performed at the Royal Albert Hall, House
Of parliament, Eintree, I have done so much already, it has
been a really amazing start.
Your
up for best album at the Classical Brit awards, how are you
feeling about being nominated for an award? are you nervous?
Wow,
i am excited, i was shocked, i have only had one album, i
am the only woman to be nominated, there is a 14 year old
girl nominated and the other nominees are male, it is such
an honor to be nominated
I will be over the moon if i win and if i don't i will still
be proud.
Will
you be performing at the awards?
I
will be singing with boy band Blake, ( How long will you spend
rehearsing for the Classical Brit's performance?)
When i'm performing my own songs because i sing them so much
i tend to spend a few hours before hand, but with Blake, I
have never done a duet before, we'll probably spend a couple
of days before hand to get together and rehearse.
Your
headlining at the City showcase Roots and Flutes, what can
we expect from the show?
You
can a expect a real celebration, a diversity of music coming
together, It's nice to do a different performance and see
the magic i bring to it.
With
big events like this do you still get pre stage nerves?
Erm...
it depends what i'm singing like with Gary's song Rule The
World i have performed it so many times, so many people know
it, it's easy to sing a song i no, i was more nervous singing
on Songs Of Praise doing a different song, one i'm not as
familiar with.
How many songs will you be performing at the City show? I'm
not 100 percent yet maybe 4 songs.
What
have been your favorite performances venues so far?
Wembley
Stadium in front of 90 thousand people was incredible, stepping
out on to that stage my brain wasn't working it was crazy,
Royal Albert Hall was amazing, i love performing, i enjoy
it so much.
Supporting
both the Angels and The Priests, how much rehearsal time do
you need before a show?
With
the Angels i'm not doing any duets, i'll be performing songs
i've done over and over again i know them so well i don't
need as much time to rehearse them, supporting the Priests
i will be dueting with them so a few days before the shows
start.
Any
Duets coming up?
I
can't really say, Hopefully in the pipeline...
Do
you find audiences differ depending where you are performing?
Performing
at Wembley stadium was different because of the football connection,
that was a very different experience for me. Every where else
like at the Royal Albert Hall was lovely, the audiences wasn't
intimidating, they give you your privacy, they was there just
for the music.
After
the angels and The Priests tours any plans for your own headline
shows?
More
than likely after the next album, I'm performing at stately
homes throughout the summer, (all dates for seeing Camilla
live can be found at her official web site: www.camillakerslake.com)
Hopefully next year headline shows.
Any
plans to release any more songs from your album?
We
don't normally release a physical single, it's a case of picking
a song to perform for a tv show which works the best. Are
you working on your next album or are you just focusing on
this one? I am actually working on my next cd, we've worked
on some really beautiful arrangements, after the Priests tour
i'll be going back in to the studio with Mike Hedges who did
the first album.
Your
also an ambassador for the Princes foundation, how did this
come about?
I
first performed for the prince at xmas and i did a gala dinner
and i was asked after that, its really nice to be an ambassador,
it's something that i am really interested it, so it is good
to be a part of it.
Any
fan messages?
Please
vote for me at the classical Brit's this is the only award
voted for by the fans, your support means so much, I'm so
grateful to every single one of you, thank you.
