Could you start by telling us more about your new single Long Way home?
Long Way Home is just a very honest song that I wrote when I was feeling emotional and confused about a relationship.
How have you found touring with the Overtonnes?
The tours been a brilliant experience. I’ve had the opportunity to play 27 venues across the UK, connecting with new audiences and meeting some great people.
Do you think a possible calibration with them in the future may work or happen?
Right now I’m focusing on my own material, but they’re a very talented bunch so never say never!
How would you describe your own sound?
It’s a mix of folk and soul with a poppy edge.
Who in that charts are you currently listening to?
Still can’t get enough of Hoziers album. But I’m also a big fan of Alabama Shakes right now.
Any one that you would like to work with?
There’s a band called #VintageTrouble who I think are insanely cool – I’d love to do a collab with those guys.
Have you any more live dates coming up?
I’ve got a busy summer of gigs and festivals including Secret Garden Party and Boardmasters. Then in the Autumn I’m going out round the UK supporting Starsailor.
Where have been your favourite venues to perform at so far?
On this tour with the Overtones, I had the opportunity to perform at the Birmingham Synphony Hall – that was pretty special, it’s such a stunning venue with incredible acoustics.
How was performing at Glastonbury for you?
Glasto was a brilliant weekend. The audiences I had were awesome and to be surrounded by so much great music was a privilege!
Do you have an album coming out soon?
It’s something I’m working on over the course of this year.
Have you already decided on your follow up single to Long way home?
I’m between a couple of songs at the moment! Il need to take a vote among my family and friends.
Who inspires you as an artist?
I have many influences and inspirations from all across the musical board. Van Morrison is one of my favourite songwriters, Freddie Mercury, one of my favourite performers. I also love the energy and creativeness Katy Perry puts into her performances and tours.
What is next for you?
A very busy summer of gigs, writing and recording. I want to focus on getting out there and performing as much as possible. Might see if I can sneak in a little holiday at the end of the summer too!

Anything you’d like to add that I haven’t mentioned during this interview?
I collect rubber chickens and have two bunny rabbits that I love very much
