Your
single UH OH is about partying and having fun, is this a good
introduction to who you are as a solo artist?
Yes
for sure, definitely i'm a free spirit perhaps a little wild
child, UH OH is really a female inpowerment song, it is about
saying to men i don't need you, screw you i'm a woman type
thing so yeah it definitely shows one side to me.
The
music video looked like a lot of fun to make, where did you
shoot the video?
It
was really fun to shoot, it was at a dodgy B&B in Waterloo,
we wanted some where really dirty and sleazy originally i
wanted an American old style motel that's the vibe we was
going for.
Is
this the kind of style that we can expect from your debut
album?
My
album is really commercial dance pop with a deeper meaning,
the album is similar sound to UH OH, some tracks are a little
darker, i'm finishing the album off at the moment we just
have a few more songs to record ready to hopefully release
in the fall. I'm so proud of this album,I feel like I have
such a strong collection of songs now, so I just want to get
it out there, i so excited for everyone to hear it.
You've
spent about 4 years in Hollywood working on your music, how
much creative control do you have over your music?
I
have 100% control over everything i am a songwriter, i write
all my own songs everything comes from me, this reason i did
it all independently I am involved in everything i do.
You've
made a name for yourself, built up your own hype working your
own way and now releasing your first single, how did you come
to sign your record deal?
I
started independently just getting to know a lot of people
though Hollywood, singing in bars, clubs just to get my name
out there and into this industry, meeting different people
and networking, and from that i met with a British based company
who i am releasing UH OH with.
What
are your expectations towards chart success?
Very
Important.. When you do it the way i did it, started from
the bottom slow and gradually, your the writer, your own creator,
the manager of something so close to your heart as this is
to me, then it is very importantly, i'm really career/musically
driven and hopefully it will pay off.
There
has been comparisons between your self, Ke$ha and Katy perry,
are you happy to have these comparisons?
With
a new artist there's always going to be comparisons, with
pop music there will always be artists be compared to each
other, it's nice that people are recognizing me i really don't
mind at all. I write all my own songs, hopefully as i get
my music out there you will get to know me and see me as female
solo artist with my own unique individual style. ( is there
any artists that you would like to collaborate with?) You
know what, i absolutely love Lady Gaga, i would love to write
with her, her songs are amazing, she is so incredibly talented
it would be so much fun to work with her, I also love the
sassiness of Katy Perry, it would be nice to work with either
of them see what we could come up with.
For
you how does the UK music scene compare with the US?
Right
now there is a lot more going on with the UK music scene,
there's a good mix of pop, rock and dance, there is so many
different artists in the charts right now, in America it is
more Hip Hop and RnB based, here you have a lot more going
on.
With
UH OH released on the 28th June will you be touring over here
over the summer? where can we catch you live? any festivals
lined up? is there any festivals that you would like to attend?
We
are just getting started, we have dates being confirmed right
now, I have weekend at Willows booked in, i'm so excited for
that, I really wanted to d0 T4 Party on the beach that looks
like a lot of fun, the lineup looks awesome, but we was to
late to book for that one. Isle of Wright also looks good.

Stage
performance what is a Kyrah show like?
Very
Edgier, very pop, i perform with dancers, we do a sexy hip
hop dance, i also Madonna 80's style with the leggings, i
wear a lot of lace, i love being on stage expect a real upbeat
fun show.
From
starting out you've performed at a lot of different venues
any favorites?
In
LA at the Whiskey defiantly a favorite.. i was excited to
be on that stage, so many amazing bands have performed there,
to be stood on that same stage was fantastic, me and a friend
choreographed that show, Madame Jo Jo's here in London was
great, there was some really good pop acts performing it was
a lot of fun, i have met some really nice interesting people
over here in the UK.
Have
you decided on your second single release?
We
did have one planned but now were writing a new song that
should be the 2nd release.
What is next from you?
What's
next? so much promotion for UH OH, doing radio interviews,
Tv's live shows, busy working to release my single on the
28th June, which i hope you all enjoy and building up a good
fan base, i'm looking forward to performing live over here.
