Mark Read Interview:

As a member of A1 they had 2 UK number ones and eight top ten hits countless awards and three hit albums before taking a break to focus on other projects like with Mark it was songwriting, releasing his own album and performing at the Royal Albert Hall.

Having taken time out to move in there own musical directions A1 are now back together as a three piece recording a new CD and tour mainly at the minute in Norway how ever they will be returning to the UK to releases music. Mark Read kindly taken time out from a1's schedule to talk to Music Promotions about A1 reforming, how performing older hits compares to newer songs and the A1 fans.

Keep up to date with everything that A1 are up to at there official web site: www.a1official.com

Being back together as A1 does it feel as you'd never taken a break?

Well the very first thing we did after 7 years of doing our own thing we all met up for a show in Norway and performed a song that we had not sang for a long time, we literally met backstage at a TV show and performed one of our biggest older hits and it felt so good performing as A1 again.

Do you still enjoy playing your older songs as much as your newer ones?

I love the old songs and every one that comes to one of our shows love them to a lot of them remember them from the first time round, we perform them in a new way so they sound fresher and better, I do love our new songs it's nice to see the audiences singing along and singing back to us.

Which of your songs are your favorite to perform?

Wow that's a good question and hard lol! any song really that the audiences can take over, Every time and Caught In The Middle are two favorites never tire of singing them.

Being a songwriter are there any artists that you would like to write for?

I would love to work with Paul Mcartney, I have worked with Robin Gibb I would love to work with him again and also Michael Bolton i enjoyed working with those guys.

Would you ever consider going the X Factor route with a judging role maybe?

Seeing the strain and pressure that both Gary Barlow and Tulisa went through i really don't know, They are both so passionate with who they was mentoring you could really see how much they put into there acts, Tulisa went through so much with no one knowing how she would be but she really proved her self as a judge she really connected as a mentor she worked hard and deserves so much respect. If the opportunity did come up at the right time i would love to be involved.

What is your opinion of the current music scene?

To be honest I don't think there is enough artists that really stand out, Both Jessie J and Adele are the only ones really that really get me excited they release great music and Coldplay they are always consistent.
I always go back to old music that doesn't change for me, bands who i grew up with I love to listen to them and that's how music should be.

Where has been your favorite venue/crowd to perform at/in front of?

I think that has to be Royal Albert Hall it was such an honor to play there an amazing experience. There is so many others that i would love to play but Royal Albert Hall is the highlight so far.

UK POP PRINCESS DANIELA BROOKER TO RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘FORGET ABOUT YESTERDAY’

Fresh off a sold out arena tour with the UK’s hottest girlband ‘The Saturdays’, Daniela Brooker is set to release her eagerly anticipated single ‘Forget About Yesterday’ on February 13th 2012.

“Forget About Yesterday, with its uplifting vibe and pop credentials, sounds like the first big hit of many to come. A natural on stage and with songs as pleasing to the ear as she is to the eye, this is definitely a name to watch out for in 2012”. - Gigjunkie

2011 was an exciting adventure for golden girl Daniela Brooker. Not only did she headline a US tour for the Hard Rock Cafe, but upon returning to the UK, Daniela embarked upon an arena tour with the pop sensations ‘The Saturdays’ playing in prestigious sold out venues such as Wembley Arena, the MEN and the Dublin O2.

Daniela’s latest offering, ‘Forget About Yesterday’, is scheduled for release on the 13th of February, with a launch party at top London venue 229 to follow on the 17th. The pop starlet will be showcasing her vocals, performing a number of hits as well as her catchy and care-free self-penned new single.

Alyssa Reid:

Alyssa Reid has arrived in the UK in style with the release of her debut UK single Alone again taking from her debut album The Game.

The lead off single “Alone Again” co -written by Alyssa, is a fresh take on the 1987 #1 hit single “Alone” by female rockers Heart. The newly interpreted song has instantly connected with listeners across Canada as witnessed by the meteoric rise up the Canadian airplay and singles sales charts. The song has muscled it’s way into the Top 5 at pop radio and produced a #1 video on MuchMusic, making Alyssa Reid the top spun Canadian artist in the country and placing her in the same company with top selling international acts, Lady Gaga, JLo and Britney. Over the past six months the platinum selling single has catapulted Alyssa Reid into the musical spotlight, placing her at the top of Billboard’s “Emerging Artists” chart for an astounding 18 consecutive weeks, garnered a “MuchMusic Video Award” nomination for “Best Pop Video” and attracted press coverage from coast to coast.

The follow up single and title track, “The Game” is a rebuttal to “Alone Again”. Both singles are connected by a similar musical and lyrical reference point but are opposite sides of the same coin. Where “Alone Again” explores emotional vulnerability “The Game” is a celebration of individuality and self -confidence, boldly asserting; “everyone who knows me, knows that I stand alone, it’s all part of the game”.

THE MARS VOLTA

NOCTOURNIQUET

SIXTH FULL LENGTH STUDIO ALBUM OUT MARCH 26 ON WARNER BROS.

Known for such landmark releases as the gold-certified De-Loused In The Comatorium and Frances The Mute and 2008's The Bedlam In Goliath which featured Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy winner "Wax Simulacra," The Mars Volta returns in epic and unexpected fashion with its sixth album: Noctourniquet which will be released March 26 by Warner Bros.

While Noctourniquet was, in typical Mars Volta fashion, written by Omar Rodriguez-Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala and produced by Rodriguez-Lopez, the 13-track album explores musical territories previously uncharted in the duo's 20 or so years of creating music together. The spectrum of musical and emotional textures conceived and created by Rodriguez-Lopez on Noctourniquet ranges from the opening bombast of "The Whip Hand" to the menacing crawl of "The Malkin Jewel" punctuated throughout by hypnotic melodies and borderline electro-ambient washes, most notably in the epic "In Absentia." The bold diversity of the new material combined with Rodriguez-Lopez's assured producer's hand guiding The Mars Volta's most confident and refined performances to date make Noctourniquet an early contender for this year's most challenging and rewarding listen.

As with previous Mars Volta efforts, Bixler-Zavala's lyrics trace a narrative journey with a defined protagonist, this time inspired by disparate elements including '80s UK alt-rockers The Godfathers, Superman comic nemesis Solomon Grundy and the Greek myth of Hyacinthus.

Noctourniquet was performed by The Mars Volta lineup of Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Juan Alderete de la Pena, Marcel Rodriguez Lopez, and Deantoni Parks.

A full track listing is posted at the band's website. For further information, tour dates, etc. please go to:
