Can you start by telling us more about your self?
I am from Sheffield, I am from a musical family, my dad is a singer he is kind of a country singer, I grew up practically on stage and when I was 19-20 I picked up guitar which started a whole different music genre before that I was auditioning for pop stuff trying to find a break in the industry and then I just became a singer songwriter when I picked up my guitar and started to write about my journey, my faith, the up and downs that we all go through and last year I toured with Lionel Ritchie that is the biggest thing I had done to date and I have been really busy this year and it’s amazing to be ending the year with WetWetWet.
Lionel Ritchie was the biggest thing I have done with a major mainstream profile artist.

How are you finding the WetWetWet tour? How do you think the audiences compare to the Lionel Ritchie ones?
I think they are quite similar really, very enthusiastic they love the Wets they are massive fans, they have been really warm I think because wetwetwet are a great band with great songs they are really open to hearing new music and I think it’s quite nice for them to see a girl with a guitar opening the show they have been really good.

Which venue has been your favourite to perform at?
I played at the O2 arena a couple of nights ago which was just unbelievable I did the O2 with Lionel to but it doesn’t loose it’s amazing ness it’s just so epic it’s a massive venue and knowing people like Stevie Wonder has played there it makes you feel overwhelmed so that was amazing, I really enjoyed the first night we played in Manchester which is one of my favourite venues, I am really looking forward to playing the Hydro because it’s Scotland and you just know they are going to go wild for WetWetWet, I have a tartan skirt planned to wear!!

How would you describe your own music sound?
Sound wise people say its a little bit country and vocally a little bit soulful, a lot of my influences are soulful and I play acoustic guitar, tonight will be acoustic guitar soul and quite folk.

Are there any singers that you would like to work with?
There is loads yes, one of my favourite artists is Stevie Wonder if I ever got to work with him i think I would just fall over, i am a big fan of Carrie Underwood as a singer, fellow female singer she is brilliant.
I am a huge fan of prince but I doubt I’ll ever get to work with him he hardly ever plays and when he does it’s globally and important, but yeah there are tons.

The album that came out in July is that the one that you are still promoting?
Yes we are going to be releasing a single from the album in January called Cherry coloured coat and that is a really folky country type song, with a Red Riding Hood themed video people can watch out for that on YouTube, the album through The Woods we are going to tour with that next year and I will be writing again for a new project.

As a songwriter who inspires you as an artist?
I love good songs good songwriting, people like Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, I was a massive fan of the Carpenters when I grew up they are very clever melodically and stuff, I just love good songs, songs with heart. I am a big fan of Billy Joel as well I think his songs are great.

As you said you have a tour next year has that been confirmed yet?
We are still working on the dates, we have 12 dates confirmed which we will be releasing just after Christmas.

Have you got any more supports coming up or is just going to be your own tour?
They are a couple of things in the pipeline what I can’t tell you yet, I am looking forward to doing more live it’s great to get in front of people like with the Wets they have been building this audience for a long time is a real honour to be on there stage and sing to their audience.

What is coming up next for you?
Christmas!!!!!! Mince pies mulled wine and television is what is coming up next, but next next is Phones 4U arena on the 27th December and that’s like a big gospel event with Mary Mary and other gospel singers so that is another arena event it’s quite a big one and I strongly suggest that everyone comes out and see that it will be a good night.
