Hey,
how you all doing? Very good thank you - we've just this second
got back from an arena performance to 1,000 people in Minehead.
Who came up with the name for Stonefoxx? Both us, and an American
friend. We wanted a sassy strong name and that's what Stonefoxx
basically means... it's American slang - check the Urban Dictionary!
How long have Stonefoxx been together? 2 years this Christmas
How would you describe Stonefoxx's sound? Pop with insatiable
beats!
How was your showcase at Soho Revue Bar? Which songs did you
perform? Wicked busy with a great crowd - even Matt Willis
and David Guest(!) turned up to see us. We performed our four
most recent tracks; Cruel Goodbye, Come Closer, Rewind and
What We Do.
Do you still get last minute nerves before a live show? Occasionally,
depending on who's in the audience, haha! At the moment we're
trying to impress record company A&R's - they're the people
who sign new acts, so that's always a bit daunting.
Do you have individual songs which you prefer performing live?
All of them! It's just great getting our music out there.
Having spent most of this year tour, which city or venue has
been your favourite to perform at? Cardiff International Arena
had an amazing crowd, but also the Sheffield and Nottingham
arena's, its always nice performing in your home town areas.
Other than that, the o2 arena in the docklands was something
else; the biggest venue in the UK, and especially amazing
to have the chance to perform there as an unsigned group.
How was performing with Shane Ward? Do you find some audiences
are harder than others to get into your music? Shayne's audience
were a perfect crowd for us and it was easy getting them warmed
up when we told him he was backstage in his underwear! We're
quite selective about where we gig, and try to perform for
people who love their pop music - so most crowds have been
really welcoming.
When will you be releasing your debut single and album? As
soon as we get a major deal signed.
What are your expectations towards chart success? We know
it's hard work but we all have the determination and talent
to achieve it.
How much input do you have in to your music? It all depends
on the producers and writers we work with on each song. Some
songs are pitched to us as full tracks, while with others
we have input in the writing process.
What would you say set's Stonefoxx apart from other bands?
We're all-round performers, who are very strong willed and
believe in our dreams!
In the run up to Xmas what gigs do you have lined up? Some
Christmas light switch on's, and more promo gigs in London
as well as support gigs for acts like the Sugababes and Shayne
again!
What music are you all in to? I love Kylie's sound, Girls
Aloud, Danity Kane as well as singer songwriters
like Ross Copperman and the Script.
Do you have any messages for your fans? Thank you for all
your support so far and lets keep it going for 2009
