Can you tell us a little bit more about who you are?
We are Taylor & Marie, a folk/country duo made up of two solo artists,
Samuel Taylor from Sheffield, and Jodie Marie from Pembrokeshire.

How would you describe your music style?
I guess it’s a mixture of folk, country and a touch of blues.

Your currently on tour right now how is that going?
It’s been amazing! We’ve been supporting the very talented Nerina
Pallot. We’ve both supported her individually over the years. We
actually met on a Nerina Pallot tour 3years ago, then last summer Sam
contacted Jodie and asked about starting a duet project, which turned
into Taylor & Marie. It’s been a fantastic tour with really lovely
people, audiences and venues.

Where have been your favourite venues so far?
For the grandeur and the beautiful aesthetic, the Union Chapel in London.
For the vibe, energy and whiskey, Oran Mor in Glasgow where we met
those 3 years ago supporting Nerina Pallot.

When can we expect a single and album release from you?
Yes, we are releasing our cover of Creedence Clearwater Revivals, Bad
Moon Rising on December 1st. We will be releasing an album together
next year.

Who inspires you musically?
Ryan Adams, Gillian Welch, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen, Neil
Young, Gram Parsons, Johnny Cash, Joan Baez – to name a few!

Do you have favourite songs that you prefer to sing live?
Yes, good ones.

How long do you spend in rehearsals and sound checking before hand?
We like to rehearse to be prepared for the gigs, it often gets us to
write new songs in that time too. We don’t always get much chance for
a soundcheck, but we like it when we do.

Any plans for your inn headline tour and/or any more tour supports coming up?
We’re supporting The Shires & Ward Thomas before the end of this year.
There will be lots more dates in 2015, which will be posted on our
website www.taylorandmarie.com

Who in the charts are you currently listening to?
Ryan Adams, Tallest Man on Earth, First Aid Kit.

Would you ever have considered the X Factor/Voice route?
No.

What is next for you?
A few dates supporting The Shires & Ward Thomas. A Christmas show with
#NerinaPallot. We have our own set of Christmas dates too. We’re
writing a lot at the moment for our Taylor & Marie album which will be
out next year.
