it Out there incredible debut single is the longest

not bad for a band who are unsigned, the soundtrack
includes, N Dubz, Cheryl Cole, Pixie Lott and the
Sugababes.
If
you haven't had the chance to see them live already,
the Light Bulb Thieves will be performing at the massive
street dance championship gig the last week of August
alongside Alexandra Burke and Tinie Tempah...

Terry. Music Promotions had the pleasure of talking
to the lovely Terry this week, check out this interview
right now to see what he has to say...
You
have been described as the UK's answer to the Black Eyed Peas,
How do you feel about the comparisons?
It
is an absolute honor to be compared to such a massive band
as the Black Eyed Peas at this early stage of the LightBulb
Thieves, that said hopefully when everyone gets to hear our
album we will be able to come into our own,
very unbelievably happy to be compared to the Black Eyed Peas.
(Are there any bands that you look up to?) Of course there
is bands that we look up, who inspire us, we like to try to
ra vamp it to our own sound, bands like the Special's, respect
them, the Gorillaz have a real distinctive sound you can instantly
hear Damon Albarn, there's a lot of bands who we respect to
many to mention.
Your
single Work It Out is featured on the Street Dance 3D film
soundtrack, how did this come about?
Basically
i know the director of the movie and i got a sneaky look at
the script, i saw the scene were the ballet dancers meet the
hip hop dancers for the first time and that scene really stood
out, music coming together from different genres, i had this
idea for that scene a song that would really fit and i gave
them my idea, the songs was only about 30% finished and Joanne
laid her vocals, then Leon came in did his and then Andrew,
i hadn't even put mine down, when the director got back to
us to see if they could use Work It Out because they had been
let down by a well know artist and we secured the biggest
scene of the film, which was amazing for us because we was
the only band on the soundtrack who wasn't signed to a record
deal.
When
Work It Out was featured on the soundtrack you was an unsigned
band are you now signed to a record deal?
We
are still unsigned, at the moment we are negotiating with
labels at the moment, we started out because we all have the
same passion for this music, thats what it is all about for
us, we having fun making our album, its all about timing,
were not rushing we doing it in our own stride.
When
can we expect your follow up single to Work It Out?
At
the moment were in talks to release Work It Out as the 3rd
official single from Street Dance 3d soundtrack, hopefully
we will get to release it. We are working to releases a brand
new single towards the end of the year.
Is
this song a good indication of the sound and style we can
expect from LightBulb Thieves?
To
be honest we have a lot more songs to be heard, better songs
to be showcased, Work it Out was catered for the movie, we
have songs that show our fun side, songs that everyone can
relate to, stuff that happens from younger people to older,
every day life experiences in a quirky kinda way.
Your
album produced with SI Hubert, how long have you spent making
this CD? How much creative control do you have over your music?
Every
part of it we are in control its a very organic process, the
fundamental part of it is with us there was no auditions,
Si the producer knew Leon, he is a fantastic musician, I knew
Andrew through other artists, Joanne was the secret ingredient,
amazing girl, British accent, she is brilliant, she is great
really holds it up well, it was a real organic process, the
album has taken 2 years to write, getting the sound right,
we are all perfectionists.
Can
we expect to see any collaborations in the future?
I
can't really give to much away, we are in talks with 2 UK
artists and 1 US artist, Uk don't tend to calibrate as much
as US artists, US artists duet together all the time, they
support each other, there is so much amazing talent with the
British music scene we would love to release with another
UK artist.
Have
you got any summer shows/festivals lined up?
We
will be performing at the Street dance championships, with
some amazing artists like Alexandra Burke and Tinie Tempah,
it is the last weekend in August, we have more gigs being
confirmed as we speak all the dates that we have we will add
to out face book page, so check us out on face book, we always
updating.(www.facebook.com/lightbulbthieves)
What
is next for the LightBulb Thieves?
Out
next venture is putting the finishing touches to our album,
rehearsing with the band, Street dance championship gig, promoting
the Street dance 3D movie soundtrack, hopefully Work It Out
will be the 3rd single to be released, everything we do we
will keep our face book and official web site updated, so
pleases add us, we really appreciate your support thank you.
