For anyone who may be unfamiliar
with The Hussy's could you introduce your selves?
The Hussy's are Fili (vox) James (guitar) Steph (bass) Rachel
(keys/synchs) and Chris (drums) we're from Glasgow and surrounding
areas
How long have you been together
as a group?
The line up as it stands just now has been together for approx
a year and a half.
How would you describe your
music sound? Are there any bands who you might thing you have
a similar style to?
We're a mixture of rock and pop. We've dabbled in electro
for our new album. For every song we've ever written we've
been compared to different bands every time. from Catatonia
to The Cure. It'll be interesting to see who we're compared
to for the new album.
Your new album Japanese Graffiti,
is it a completely new direction from your previous cd's?
Yeah it is quite different it's got loads of synch parts and
we've experimented with the vocals on this they're not as
"shouty" as they have been in the past.
Will Japanese Graffiti be
released world wide, in store and online?
We'll be selling it on our Myspace and we're gonna get it
up on Itunes along with our previous stuff which is already
up there.
Do you have single ready for
release? where can your fans catch the music video to the
single?
We're still considering a single release, trying to pick our
fave tunes, it's a toughy! Any videos we make are on Youtube
so fans can catch them there.
Do you have 100 percent control
over your music?
Yup yup yup
What is your opion on shows
like the X Factor? is this a route you've ever considered
going down?
The X Factor makes for average Saturday Night viewing if that's
your thing. Not ours really. We're too busy watching Strictly
Come Dancing...
Your music is currently being
aired on The Hills and Paris BFF, how did this come about?
is there any more of your songs going to be aired on any other
TV shows?
We just got that through our Myspace. MTV got in touch to
ask if they could use a few songs, of course we didn't turn
it down. They don't tend to tell us when they're airing our
songs so who knows you'll all just have to keep listening.
Have you got any tours lined
up? headlining or supporting?
We're playing Nice N Sleazy's in Glasgow on 14th November,
still some more to be confirmed but we'll be in Edinburgh
at some point, hopefully London and some other places in between.
When we find out the dates go straight onto My space so keep
a look out.
Best and worst on stage moments
so far?
Best was probably in Inverness. We were about to start playing
1980's and Rach who starts the song kept playing the notes
to the chorus instead of the intro. she was the only one who
didn't notice. It was the best because it was so funny.
Worst, hmm dunno there hasn't really been any horrific moments
although sometimes I forget lyrics, that's never good.
Do you find some crowds easier
to work than others?
Yeah, we tend to find that Glasgow and London crowds are the
best, you always get a reaction whether it's good or bad.
What plans do The Hussy's
have for the rest of the year?
To release Japanese Graffiti, gig around a bit then probably
back into the studio to work on some new stuff.
Any final messages for your fans?
You're freakin awesome! Keep Hussyin
